No one is safe when dreams become nightmares…
I can’t believe this day has come! The cover for my debut novel is here and ready to share with you all!
I’ve been working on this novel for the better part of three years now, and it’s taken a lot of hard work mixed with some successes (and a fair few failures!) to reach this point. I have been so excited to see my story brought to life and the cover is such a huge part of this process – I know the old adage ‘don’t judge a book by it’s cover’, but, well – we all do, don’t we!
I am thrilled to be working with Parliament House Press, an indie publisher who happily listened to my ideas and wishes for my cover and worked with me to create something that I really love. The designer, Shayne, is the head of the company, and her covers are always stunning, but personally I feel she’s really outdone herself here (I’m not biased, of course…)
They were happy to stick with a typeset cover, which is what I’ve always envisioned for this story, and took in all of my suggestions even though I’m totally new at this and actually not a very visual person, so I struggle to put my ideas into words sometimes. And yet they took everything I said and turned it into something magical.
So, without further ado, here it is…. The cover for The Life-Giver, coming 29th March 2022!
Look at it!! Look how shiny it is!! Look how pretty the text is! The details!! The underground tunnel in the background (very fitting to the setting)!!!!! I cannot put into words how thrilled I am with this cover!!
I’m so impressed with all the details they picked up – the snakes come from a key scene that takes place in a library, and the gold detailing is absolutely gorgeous. I really feel like the cover gets across the vibe of the whole novel, and it’s wonderful to see my words starting to come to life.
I hope this cover gets you excited to read the story between its pages!! I can promise a twisting tale of intrigue and corruption, the struggles of outcasts to get their voices heard, and an intense and beautiful friendship between a girl with a broken body and the voice of a god and the boy who acts as her guide and protector.
If you’re intrigued, you can add The Life-Giver on goodreads here!
I can’t wait to share my story with you all. It’s been with me since the idea sparked from a piece of GCSE coursework I wrote when I was 15, and I don’t think teenage me could ever have imagined this. Dreams are coming true, both in my fictional world and my real life!
Thank you so much for joining me on this journey, and I’ll see you all when my book comes out on March 29th, 2022!
Blurb for The Life-Giver:
The Dreamers are untouchable. They are protected by the Sun God who speaks to them through their dreams: The Life-Giver. They live away from society and are only seen by their Scribes.
But now someone—or something—has begun attacking them.
The Council tried to place the blame on the Life-Giver, but Dreamer Annelie and her Scribe Lyam know better. They learn that danger is buried deep in the heart of the Council itself, threatening their peaceful way of life for good.
Forced to team up with Enoch, a mysterious man who talks in riddles, the trio must race against time to save their underground city from corruption—before their world crumbles around them.
